Nick Lima is a communications and political science double major at Rhode Island College, with a minor in English. He presently serves as the Speaker of Parliament, and is charged with running Student Parliament meetings. Additionally, he serves as the Chair of the By-Laws/Adjudication Commission.

During the 2007 – 2008 year, he served as President of Student Community Government, Inc. He was elected Secretary of Student Community Government, Inc. for the 2006-2007 school year.

Outside of SCG, Nick Lima is the Business Manager of RIC’s Anchor Newspaper, where he is also a news/feature staff writer and food critic. Additionally, he is on the executive board of WXIN Radio, where he is the Production Director, and has previously served as the station’s News/Sports/Talk Radio Director. He is also the President of the RIC Chess Club and a founding brother of Delta Phi Delta Fraternity, a local frat at RIC.

Off campus, Nick Lima, a Tiverton, RI native, is the advisor for the Tigers TV Crew, a TV club based out of Tiverton High School. He is active in multiple community and political organizations in Newport County, and for five years has been the TV/radio/Internet play-by-play broadcaster for the Newport Gulls Baseball Club of the New England Collegiate Baseball League, where he is Director of Broadcast Operations. He has also worked for four years as a deli clerk at Clements Market in Portsmouth, RI.

Prior to coming to RIC, Nick Lima served in the United States Army. He has lived in Tiverton, Newport, Providence, Fall River, MA, and Fort Knox, KY. He currently resides in Cranston, RI.
